Mute tool

The Mute tool lets you mute clips, mute partial clips, mute MIDI notes, and disable transient markers. Mute events to prevent them from playing back.

Note: The Mute tool does not work on automation.

To select the Mute tool

Do one of the following:

Click the Mute tool button in the Control Bar.

Press T to display the Tools HUD, then select the Mute tool.

Press F10.

Note: The F10 shortcut key cycles through all Erase tools (Erase/Mute). If another Erase tool is selected, press F10 again until the Erase tool is selected.

Using the Mute tool on PRV notes

On PRV notes, the Mute tool functions as a toggle. Click once to mute and click again to unmute.
